CnW Recovery can recover files from corrupted or damaged Mac HFS+ disks, Jaz , Zip and CDs/DVDs. The in house routines have been very successful even specialised Mac programs could not access the hard drive. At times we have also recovered deleted files, (ie ones removed from the trash) something that does not appear to be possible on a Mac. Often a complete recovery of all files has been achieved.

Multiple partition Mac disks can be handled.

A small limitation with CnW Recovery on Mac files is that the process is performed on a PC, and so the files are PC compatible, rather than Mac files. The two main issues here are that PC files do not have resource forks, while some Mac files have a mixture of data forks and resource forks.

To make recovery as compatible as possible with the Mac, the AppleDouble format is used (on OS X) which retains both the resource fork valuable Metadata that ties up files with applications on the Mac.
